Hanzala, a child for Palestine (Live performance)
This show has passed.
Hanzala symbolizes our collective Palestinian conscience. As a Palestinian child, he’s already witnessed the killing of his people, the colonial settler state apartheid, the illusion of universal human rights, the treason and collusion of Arab leaders, and the propaganda that dehumanizes him. He also witnessed the tears of his mother, the depression of his father, the stone his brother threw at Goliath and got murdered for.
He is a witness to over 75 years of war, ethnic cleansing, and oppression.
Hanzala was a 10-year old boy when he was forced out of Palestine. Today, he is still a 10-year boy. He is not allowed to grow older, and he won't grow older until he returns home.
We will sing to Naji al Ali, to the people of Palestine, to all the oppressed around the world.
We will sing to Hanzala, and listen to him again.
